To clarify how this goes, there is a list of less than 256 factors to the video games. Let’s say there are 256, 0-255. To specify one, you first enter the number, say 32 (include the 0s before the 32: 00100001). Then if you enter 00 it goes to whatever factor 32 defaults as. If you enter 01 after 32 you enter another number from 0-255 for possible values and difficulties. and then 00 acts like a period. If you enter 10 you specify a value or difficulty and then pick another factor to link it to. Then you specify the value or difficulty for that factor and can link as many factors as wanted by clicking the factor number next and continuing. 00 ends it. When there is a relationship of more than one factor or even one factor, you may want something more complicated like a less common value or a formula, in which case you use 11.
You can enter a factor again to have it do multiple things and if there is a quantity you can specify what number you are looking at.
For multiple boards in different or the same dimensions, say 3, the factor number itself runs from 0-767. You can link within each dimension board and link across boards.
In the e-book, other specifications were necessary to avoid needing hard coding of some games or were listed in the description section only. Also, this blog article makes using the specifications a little more clear. However, the original book gets the point totally. Therefore I see it unnecessary to publish the second edition.
