I realized it’s not impossible to pick at pseudo-random what points are deleted to have actual balls of space that are empty. You could actually pick your formula for what points appear to not include a ball of space. That’s good because then we can genuinely have space like we want to put the variety in the Universe and have biology and psychology in it like we want.
The problem is that there might be an infinitely long rift in the Universe and then it’s disconnected. Things would probably still work. It’s just something to be aware of and I wouldn’t know how we could figure out if there was or wasn’t assuming the first was true. If we know what we’re doing however, we may be able to have the first and not the second.
